Because It's ...Me

...it's just coming out of my inner self onto the canvas. The colours to match, the shapes to form, the small detail and the end... that's what I like to do.

Love to Compose

I love to compose be it art, creative writing, poetry or music. Be it good or bad it lives with me.

Why I Paint

God didn’t give me a choice. Art is not just something I create but something I am. It makes me one with my personal God. When I see something of beauty—landscape, still life objects—I need to be a part of it; through the creative process, I become one with my subject. My subject’s soul and my soul intertwine.

Painting Makes Me Feel Good

The bright yellows and greens lift up my mood. Pinks and lavenders give me soothing effect. Above all gives me satisfaction of creation of a painting.

It Makes Me, ME

I paint because it is the only time when I can be truly me and only me...

Painting for Health

Painting makes me feel I can bring out the feelings I have at that particular time. I never noticed the beautiful colors in nature the same way I do now. To all of you: keep on painting, it's good for the heart.

My Other World

Art is like living in another world away from people far away where you can express your self and say the words that you can't say in real life. It's like another life designed by you that's where every one has his own art; it's the way you see your life and how should it be.

Beauty Rocks

Much we do, tomorrow is gone. Beauty I create can last. It gives me joy and often others too. Painting gives me a way to connect with the world around me, make it a part of me, as I process it through my perception, my soul, and my body as I put it down on paper or canvas. And that part of the world I have made mine stays with me. So painting is a way of making full use of the time I time.

Therapy

I took up painting to learn to use my non-dominant hand after a bad accident. It was incredible to learn that art had an added bonus....it is the only time that I am free of pain.

Great Enjoyment

I love it because it gives me great enjoyment. I loose myself in time and the day to day worries just vanish...and when I have completed a painting I feel like a part of me will be remain when I am gone.

Boredom Cure

I find painting or drawing a way to occupy myself. If get out my paints, put on some music, I'm sorted for the next couple of hours

To See Beauty

Painting is learning to see. When I focus for a couple hours on a beautiful landscape, beauty is imprinted on my mind. Not long ago I experienced a time of loss. A Bible passage in Philippians 4:8 says to think about lovely things. Painting helps me do that as well as learn more about the creator of this beauty.

No Choice

If you are true artist, you make art throughout your entire life. You have no choice.

I keep learning about myself.

For many years, I thought I made art (and particularly, paint) both because I was born with the driving need to "make stuff" and because I wanted so show others my world. I've now retired from teaching painting and have made a new discovery - I'm learning who I am as I paint. I see more and more of myself "leaking" into each painting no matter the subject, medium, or color palette. Someone hand me a robe - I think I feel a bit exposed! (Luckily, I think most people will never look deeply enough to realize I'm in the paint.)

The Place I Lose Myself

I like to call it colouring. It is the place I go to lose myself and find myself.
