Title and Medium
"My Heart is in your Hand" is a 6x9 inch watercolor and pastel painting I finished for my husband for the holiday. I used watercolor for my undercolor and pastel for the hand and heart. I love the brilliant colors that pastel can give to a painting.
Artist's Statement
I wanted to do a Valentine for my husband that was different and decided to do this. I am going to matt it and give it to him. It was great fun painting it. I used a watered red and purple for the background and then used red for the heart. Edged the heart with brown. Then the hand was drawn with orange pastel and used a yellow and a skin for the top. Took brown and used for the lines.
What I'd Do Differently
- I would use a larger piece of paper and maybe more watercolor background. I really love the texture of the painting and am fond of the finished product.
