Artist's Statement

I was commissioned to do this painting by my friend who is giving the painting to her best friend as a wedding present in February. The reference was cropped closer and off center to have the couple represented in the painting end up in the right third of the composition.

I think my title for the painting represents the converging of two individuals becoming one in marriage and also the railroad tracks converging to a vanishing point.

What I'd Do Differently

Outside of taking the photo myself (I got written permission and a copyright release from the photographer) I wouldn't change anything. What I like most about this piece is the leaning in of her body and the closeness of their mouths and noses as if they are breathing in each others breath. I feel like this is a very romantic painting.
