Artist's Statement

Well, I've been toying ideas for weeks, and then gathered a lot of references that I hardly use! I wanna paint something different, something new, something nice... oops then ideas flies away!

This challenge make us see things that we don't see before, we only have to look and the beauty is all around us. I think abstract does that in an artist!

What I'd Do Differently

  • I painted first a moss, clinging on the rocks on the Isle of Ioana, that could have been my entry but when I read again it should be based on flowers, so I did this!

Marion Boddy-Evans, Painting Guide, says:

Moss can have fabulous patterns and colors, but you're right, this project is about looking at the possibilities for abstracts in flowers. To encourage people to not look at the entire flower and think rose, daisy, or whatever, but to look at parts and see patterns and colors.
