What I Did:
Watercolour on watercolour, painting size approx 5 x 7 inches
How I Did It:
I thought this challenge would be relatively easy but I was wrong, this turned out quite tricky. I wanted to produce a soft ethereal feeling to my painting but failed miserably. Trying to achieve black with a soft effect was too difficult.
Lessons Learned:
- I became aware that I need to practice a lot more with watercolours to produce the effects I want.
- The butterfly to me looks as though it is superimposed on to the background and not part of the painting.
- I would take more time to plan this again if I was to re-do it, mark out the areas that need masking fluid and not just paint around the highlights.
