What I Used for This Painting

Acrylic Paints on Canvas Panel. Size: 17.5 x 17 inches.

Why This Painting is My Favorite from 2012

You may not accept a second Favorite Painting; however, I couldn't decide because this painting has sentimental attachments to me. The painting is of a man leaning on a lamp post, looking at the water's reflections (with Boston shown slightly in the background). Reflections of the water, and the gentleman is 'reflecting'...just thinking... My mother loved this painting.

She taught me to sketch when I very, very young (she never did anything more than sketching (mostly portraits with a pencil). I love Boston, I love seeing reflections in the water, and I love the peaceful feeling of someone having time to just relax, to 'look' and to 'reflect' on whatever thoughts are drifting through their minds... their 'own' time. I remember truly enjoying painting this without any struggles or decisions on where the direction was going (at times, I 'do' struggle with that.) I believe the primary reason I love it is because my best friend, My Mom, whom I lost almost a year ago, loved it! I do much 'reflecting' of my own... especially now, more than any other time in life that I can remember. I must add, I look forward to your e-mails and thoroughly 'read' them and have learned much! Thank you! Happy New Year and Be Blessed! The painting is hanging in my home.
