My Thoughts About This Challenge
I was looking for a picture to practise simplifying shapes by combining many smaller shapes into larger simpler ones, when the foliage of this tree said: " paint me!". I concentrated on eliminating many details, and my tree ended up as a slightly different tree than the one on the picture. I cropped the picture to focus on the tree rather than the whole scenery.
Tips and Tricks
- I seemed to end up with a tree with character, seemingly cheerleading. I like it, but it's the kind of thing I'll have to watch for if I wanted a more realist representation of the landscape.
- Now I'll have to study famous paintings to see what proportion of a painting has been 'simplified', and decide what I like best.
