Rainbows Aren't Black

What's on My Easel

This is a painting from about five years ago that is on my drafting table. It is now whited out in areas that aren't working right for the painting as I prepare to make a better painting out of it. For some reason I thought black semi circles that simulated the rainbow looked good on there at the time...

What I'm Doing

I am currently touching up old paintings now that I have more experience, eye and right kind of brushes. Some paintings I am having to totally redo. I am making paintings out of the vision I had in the first place but just couldn't execute well.

Why am I doing this? I didn't want to leave a legacy of one decent painting and then one really, really bad one. So instead of pitching the bad ones in the trash as I have been known to do I am trying to make lemonade out of lemons.

Advice

  • Close eyes to mess and wear knee guards while walking through room.
