What's on My Easel
The last picture for a children's book my friend wrote about a young girl and her friend we met on a trip this summer we took to Northport Michigan. She wrote and asked me to illustrate which blew my mind. A challenge and with no pictures to use I had to use my mind and what I remember and the story... it will be a keepsake of our trip and the fun we had. I use my guest room as my painting room and it's my nerve pill so to say.. I paint, think, take care of business and come back and paint. I had to finish this before my friend leaves for Thanksgiving. I've enjoyed all the other paintings .
What I'm Doing
I am going to clean up and get ready for Thanksgiving and come back and start something else. I never know what I am going to paint; this web site always gives me a challenge and I have learned a lot and enjoy so much the other artist stories and ideas. You all out there have a blessed Thanksgiving. Painting or any kind of art is a blessed thing.
Advice
- I wish I had some...I did do alot of sketching and redoing before I felt right about what I was doing and sometimes it just comes to me..like someone else is doing it; do you know what I mean. I will even look at it and say wow, how did I do that? I do remember being told here to do sketches, which helped alot and thank goodness I still have a memory. I guess my tip would be: enjoy what you are doing. The painter who did the dinos with surfers -- that I enjoyed very much. I like not the norm and, who knows, maybe they were the first to surf...
