Why I Painted It
I painted this from a pictures I took of this spot above our house. We have a path above the house with oak trees and native plants and shrubs. The location is also by a dirt road. You can look up from our lawn and see this above. I painted it in March 2010 when spring flowers were about to bloom.
What I Love About This Painting
I love the vivid color of the native plants. I loved the challenge of coming up with a composition usually two pictures so come up with what I did. The distance and repetition of flowers.
The painting is hanging on one of walls.
Tips and Tricks
- I used several shots from different pictures but in the same location. I actually did my own composition using these various pictures. It was my first landscape painting in acrylics. I usually paint in watercolors. I actually work faster in this medium. With watercolors I usually let them dry and reapply paint or a glaze.
