How/Why I Painted It & Who It Is
This was done from a photo of Jim, with his permission. I love this picture of Jim because it makes him look like a Filmstar. So I use my photo editing software to change the colours.
It was done on acrylic paper with acrylic paints.
How I Feel About This Painting
Jim has not seen this yet, but I am sure he will like it. When I stand back I think it has achieved a look of Jim without having to put in too much details.
I concentrated on the colours and shapes without details. When I squinted my eyes to look, I was surprised how it had come together.
I didn't like the texture of the deep blue, I didn't make enough and had to water it down a bit, which left streaks.
Tips and Tricks
- To think of shapes more and not rely on what I think it should be.
- Not to rush so much, it was drying too quick.
