How/Why I Painted It & Who It Is
This is a self portrait done with water colours and acrylics. It's from a photo of me when I was 30. I've always loved this hat and the colours too of course.
How I Feel About This Painting
I kind of like it and it does look like I used to in the olden days. Doesn't it just break your heart when you see what the years have done to you. Of course the alternative isn't so great either. I think I would like to do another one maybe of me and my hubby. He was such a hunk. (Still is.)
Tips and Tricks
- I learned how important it is to get the eyes right. If you can get the expression right in the eyes, I think that's what makes it look like you. The rest is filler. At least that's how it seems when you know the person and what he/she is like.
