Do You Add a Date to Your Paintings
No.Usually the topics go on flowing one after the other when I start painting and so I don't feel the need to remember specific dates.
Do You Put Your Contact Details on the Back
No.
Where Do You Sign Your Paintings
Usually to the right or left bottom depending upon the colour and subject matter of the painting. Earlier my signature was dark and bold; now I try to merge it with the same colours and use a smaller brush so that it does not become the focus of the painting instead of the painting itself.
How Do You Sign Your Paintings
Taking the same colour palette sometimes a shade darker or lighter than the colour used or the same left over colour with a smaller brush. Paper abstract works are textured and sometimes have many colours so I use pen to sign initials and year.
Advice
- A signature is very important for every artist to give a feeling of belonging and completion of painting. The artist must always consider that the buyer is attracted towards the painting and thus signature must be there but not as a prominent part of the subject of the painting. Remember to make your presence felt with your work.People must search for the signature; I feel this gives more happiness to the artist and recognition.
