Where Do You Sign Your Paintings
Usually lower right, but depending on the painting, sometimes it's lower left. I try to pick a "quiet" spot for the signature.
How Do You Sign Your Paintings
I usually use my first name, using either a brush-pen or paint. Sometimes I do sign initial and last name. The colour is one that contrasts with the area of the painting the signature is on, but the colour comes from some other part of the painting. If the painting is quite small, say 5 x 7 inches or less, I sign the picture with only an initial and do a complete signature in pen on the back.
Advice
- Don't sign in a hurry! Especially when using a paint brush to sign, I have to take my time so that it comes out legible.
