"I accidentally got some handcream on the watercolor painting I was doing and it's left a spot of grease on the paper. What can I do?" -- Arthur
When I was reading The Art Forger's Handbook a little while back, there was a tip on dealing with a grease stain on paper that really stuck out for me. (I suspect it's got to do with my love of potato crisps and the grease these can leave on your fingers.) Anyway, the book says that the solution to grease on a sheet of paper is to cut a potato in half and then rub it over a grease stain. I haven't tried it, but give it a go; what have you got to loose?
