The challenge of this painting project is to create a painting that conveys a powerful sense of mood in a person(s). It may be a portrait or self-portrait, head and shoulders or full figure, but doesn't necessarily need to show facial features. There may be one person or several. The figure(s) must dominate the composition and the art style should lean more towards painterly and realistic than abstract. The size and medium are up to you.

What particular mood you decide to depict in your painting is entirely up to you. It could be happiness, being in love, mirth, sleepiness, envy, jealousy, depression, sadness, anger, frustration.

Think about how colors, stance, clothes, and weather convey moods. What colour is your favourite, most comfortable jumper? Do you wear dark clothes on dull rainy days or bright colours to try and cheer up the day?

Think also about texture and brush strokes, and how these convey mood. A heavy impasto work has quite a different feel to a work done in smooth washes or glazes. A painting knife could be used to apply paint heavily and to slash at the paint.
