From the Artist: I did not use white in this painting because it is watercolor and I use the white of the paper instead of white paint. This was not my favorite project but it was interesting. Abstract style and watercolor medium were probably not the best choices for this assignment. I will try again with different medium and style.

From the Painting Guide: I'd agree that with watercolor your potential colors are even more limited because you've not got white, but I think an abstract subject works as well as any other.

Things to Consider When Looking at This Painting:
Color: Taking your painting only from a color point of view, I think it's a strong painting because the repeated areas of color create a rhythm and pattern to the composition, as well as a unity. This keeps my eye moving around the abstract, and my interest in the painting.

Composition: I like the combination of circles, curves, and straight-ish lines, the way stronger color is used to emphasize these and to create interesting negative shapes. It makes my eye more up and into the painting, then around to take in all the elements, and on each circuit finding more to look at and pull my further in.
