From the Artist: This painting was done with the limited palette specified. It was painted on Khadi handmade paper from a drawings of some fruit in a dish and a drawing of a blue vase with some anemones in it.
From the Painting Guide: This paper's got a wonderful texture to it, and the way you've painted the leaves of the anemones really uses this to convey their nature in a way only paint can.
Things to Consider When Looking at This Painting:
Composition: Notice that even though the curve of the table-top cuts the composition in half vertically, the other elements in the composition counteract this. The blue vase and the candle both break the curve of the table, and unite the top and bottom halves of the composition.
Painting to an Edge: For me the right-hand side of table-top should've been painted so it went off the edge of the sheet of paper, as the left-hand side does. As it is now, to me is looks like it's been constrained by the edge of the paper and feels awkward. (This could be solved easily when framing by having a mount that cropped in on the painting a bit.)
