January 2008 Painting Project: Limited Color Palette

Challenge yourself with this painting project.

From Marion Boddy-Evans, About.com

Using lots of colors isn't a recipe for success for a painting. On the contrary, often a painting can work better with only a few colors because there's more color harmony across the composition.

This project restricts the number of colors you can use in a painting (though not the subject of the painting) to just four hues. Specifically, lemon yellow, phthalo blue, burnt sienna, and white. It'll show you how much can be done with not even a handful of colors. Read the project instructions, then get painting!
