From the Artist: This painting was inspired by a friend's garden in which he had a huge collection of wind chimes. I feel terrific about the painting the colors were chosen from all of the brilliant flowers and plants in the garden. Everywhere in the garden as you moved through it, you would discover another chime, so I tried to convey an overwhelming feeling of color and a hint of the different chimes to be found if you look. The circles were done by using jar caps of various sizes the others with the knife.
From the Painting Guide: You've definitely captured a sense of overwhelming color, of something to catch the eye wherever you look. Some of the groups of circles remind me of flowering plants, such as wisteria and foxglove (though the title certainly guides me into seeing this in this abstract of color and circles).

Composition: Just because abstract paintings don't have subjects, that doesn't mean that the concept of composition doesn't apply. You're just using color, shape, and texture as the building blocks of the composition instead of considering these along with the actual objects they occur in in a representational painting.
I like the busy chaos of this painting. The more I look, the more I see both in colors and shapes. However there are two sections I find distracting: the line of large circles and the triangle of dark blue in the top left corner. While it could be argued the large circles provide a focal point, I find they dominate too strongly and don't feel integrated enough with the rest of the composition. And the tone of the dark blue is too dark compared to the tones in the rest of the composition for me.
