From the Artist: I was sitting hoping for inspiration when Marion's newsletter arrived featuring this month's painting project. I immediately went out into the garden and was drawn to a small corner of my rockery. I will certainly try this type of painting again - thanks!

From the Painting Guide: Delighted to hear about my excellent timing, and that you found the project inspiring. I regularly crawl around our garden with my camera looking at patterns and shadows. Wondrous things are to be found, though I do sometimes wonder what the neighbors think I'm doing.

Things to Consider When Looking at This Painting:
Composition: Use a finger to trace the shapes of the various elements and look at how your eye is lead around and across the painting. Notice where your eye eventually settles, and how its lead there. For me it's the small green element (a leaf, my brain tries to tell me) towards the center, with a tail leading towards it (which my brain says looks like a tadpole's tail, swimming in some dark water). Inspired by nature, it's now a painting with a life of its own.
