From the Artist: I am submitting my attempt at abstract. I am having a hard time with this concept. I really don't like this attempt, butut I thought you could help me with where I am going wrong. It just does not fit in with anything I call abstract.

From the Painting Guide: This project isn't about abstract painting in its pure form, but rather about abstracting the key characteristics of something to use for the basis of a painting.

Your abstraction seems to want to show a juxtaposition of man-made objects (such as the red of what appears to me to be a carriage of a railway train) to more natural things (such as trees). This idea could be emphasized by retaining the angularity of those objects imposed by humans and giving a more sinuous form to the natural elements. This could also be reflected in the use of color and texture. The trees already have a representative surface of bark; the mountains are given a feel of snowy tops and imposting height. Perhaps the human objects should have a more artificial, uniform, metallic feel.
