From the Artist: Not a depressing set up at all. Remember the reasoning behind depression glass giveaways? To cheer us up! I hoped the items would symbolize cheerful things (to others), as would the colors and the angle."

From the Painting Guide: Unlike Monumental Glory I'm not convinced this is an unexpected angle, but then it could be because I'm quite tall and so do see into the tops of glasses on a table.

Things to Consider When Looking at This Painting:
Color of Glass: It's a lovely study of ellipses (flattened circles) and glassware. Just look at the shadow created by the molded bowl the lemons are in and the distorted views through the glass at the back left. Also look at the use of lovely color in the shadows and reflections, particularly the lemons.
