From the Artist: "I just completed a children's book. The last page is not painted from one color, but from three shades of brown in my watercolor kit. The Cahuilla Indians used only two or three shades of dye when they made their baskets."
From the Painting Guide: This appears to be top-down view of a beautiful woven basket stained to create a geometric pattern. It's possible that the use of shading to represent shadows would give the picture a more three-dimensional feel and thus make it easier to identify. It shows clearly how limiting colors can work strongly.
