From the Artist: I used a 1 1/2" Windsor and Newton brush. I found I had to use larger paper and a simple composition in order to make the painting work. It is nice to be able to use a few large sweeping strokes. I like that I was able to be more free but I know the details did not come out as well. It was an interesting exercise and next time I will use even larger paper.
From the Painting Guide: As you're not happy with the details, what you could do now is to take the size brush you'd usually use and work on the details -- but only a little. You don't want to overwork it and loose the lovely feel you've achieved with the big brush. Think about what detail you feel it needs, add no more than half of this, then step back and see how you feel about the painting.
