From the Painting Guide: A great study of water drops, beautifully observed and rendered. To me the strong, saturated greens on the leaves makes it feel as if there's just been a rain shower, which often enhances colors.
Things to Consider When Looking at This Painting:
Background: I like the echo of other leaves in the background, but I think I would do more of it to eliminate much of the white space. At the moment the white creates some strange and quite dominant negative spaces that distract my eye from the leaves.
Colors of Shadows: Take a close look at the complex colors of the shadows. How the parts in shadow are completed to the same level of detail as the rest of the leaves, not simply slapped in as a black or dark brown shape. It's this kind of attention to detail that makes for great realism.
