From the Artist: This was taken at Niagara Falls in December. The water is spray from the Falls that has encased the leaf with ice.

From the Painting Guide: Brrr, it must've been chilly.... Ice can be spectacularly beautiful, and when the sun comes out Nature reveals a whole new portfolio. Your painting portrays one such beautiful moment. The composition really pulls the viewer's eye in and down towards the drops dripping off the leaf.

Things to Consider When Looking at This Painting:
Focusing on Detail: The grandeur of a magnificent landscape or scene, such as Niagara Falls, often sweeps us away and takes up all our attention, making us miss the small details that can be so beautiful. For me this is one of the reasons to spend some time at a scenic location, not to just rush in, take some photos, and rush out. Think about how many paintings and photos you've seen of Niagara Falls, compared to how many you've seen of the light in ice melting off some leaves?
