From the Artist: "I have painted many paintings on Vincent van Gogh, some are copies of his own painting and some are based on his life story. No one else has influenced my artistic nature more than he has.
It has been hard for me to select what should I send as a tribute to him. So I am sending 'himself' to you. I do not find anything more suitable than this. I have learnt that it is all useless to try to imitate him ... he was the one with his own style, energy and of course with delirium of artistic creation ... most devastating of all deliriums."
From the Painting Guide: This is a glorious portrait and a truly fine tribute. Those eyes really give me the feeling of Vincent checking out all the paintings in this project gallery.... The dark, earthy colors are very reminiscent of those Van Gogh used in his early paintings, particularly of peasant life.
