Show your love for someone by creating a painting or card for someone you love. It should include some symbolism associated with love (see the symbols dictionary for some ideas). Whether you choose symbols that your beloved will recognize or not, is up to you.
Artists who love flowers, for example, could paint a bowl of red roses, perhaps with a small yellow one for a touch of jealousy? (Find inspiration in the flower reference photos collection.) Or how about someone reading a letter, with an envelope lying next to them that's been sealed with a kiss, telling us it comes from a lover? Or maybe be wicked and paint a still life of some chocolates, then eat them and give the painting to your Valentine instead?
If you complete this project, you're invited to submit a photo for the project gallery. Paintings will be considered for inclusion in the project gallery if submitted between 1 and 14 February only.
