From the Artist: This is my first entry to the project and also first attempt of landscape. This is a painting of a photo from a trip we took to Arkansas. I did this on canvas paper and enjoyed doing it.
From the Painting Guide: Great to have you join in the monthly projects and I'm pleased it got you to paint your first landscape. The composition with the expanse of water going off the left-hand side gives a lovely sense of the scene continuing to the left, while the vegetation on the right-hand side gives a feeling of looking at the detail in the location.
Watch out for the height of the reflected reeds -- in the center the reflection is longer than the reeds above the water. Also, would the trees in the background not influence the color of the bit of water there?
