From the Artist: I love the challenge of trying to capture extraordinary beauty in ordinary life by my paintings. The wonderful colors of the fall are one of them.

From the Painting Guide: Whether you're in a part of the world that calls it fall or autumn, the changing colors that this time of the year brings are very magical and magnificent to me. Yes, I can understand the how and why, but necessity doesn't explain the beauty. It's just one of the joys that nature provides for free.

I think your beauty captures the beauty of the season, the glorious colors in changing leaves. The deep browns in the background give me a sense of the earth they fall to and become as they rot away.

Things to Consider When Looking at This Painting:
Composition: While the painting is fairly abstracted by being a close-up view of fall leaves, this doesn't mean there isn't an underlying composition or structure to the painting. Look at the arrangement of tones (squint your eyes and it's easier to see the lightest and darkest tones). How the large areas of light tone at the top push your eye into the center of the painting. How the dark tones give a sense of depth rather than thing being created through detail. How the angles and lines of leaves pull your eye across the painting.
