From the Artist: This semi-representational cloud painting was influenced by three things: the late Roger Brown's clouds, Van Gogh's swirly skies, and my thoughts on human death ... and life.

From the Painting Guide: It's an intriguing painting with a strong sense of movement in it that carries my eye around it, seeing more as I continue to look at it.

Things to Consider When Looking at This Painting:
Influence from Other Artists: Some people don't study the work of past and contemporary artists because they say they don't want to be influenced by them, that their own work can't be original otherwise. I don't buy this argument. I believe you can't develop as an artist if you don't look at other paintings, take what inspires you, experiment with it in your own work and style. What emerges can only be your art, as it's 'filtered' through your mind and brush.
