From the Artist: This painting was started with a wash of dark acrylic blue, followed by a wash with diluted oil for the tree. When fully dried, cadmium blue was glazed all over the canvas, the bigger clouds were feathered over the dried background, some of the small clouds were dry brushed, the colors were added later. Then the tree, ground, and other effects were painted with multiple glazes.
I believe that the glazing method gives me a better control over my colors... some glazes can be unnoticed by many except for the light and colors effects.
From the Painting Guide: I agree, glazing colors can produce really beautiful colors, with great depth and extremely subtle variations.
