From the Artist: This painting was done on a wrap canvas so the sides are painted as well with little squares of color. I also wired it to hang length ways and it works well in both directions. This photo is a little fuzzy and the work is gone so no chance of taking another photo.
From the Painting Guide: I have this vision of someone grabbing the painting off your easel and your taking a photo as it was whipped away. It's a pity the photo is fuzzy, as it's hard to see just to what extent the buildings are dissolved and where there are hard edges (other than the windows).
I like the overall sense of built-up environment I get from this painting, though the colors are too bright and cheerful for the feeling I get from cities. Now if it were done in murky colors... but then many people do enjoy city life, just not me.
It'd be interesting to see the painted edges, and how this influences the feeling of the painting. The composition on what I see in the photo seems to sit neatly within the frame, not go up to the edges or around them.
