From the Artist: After years of painting in minute detail, this project really forced me to open up my style and my imagination. It was so much fun that I can't see myself going back to my old style! I think I'll paint this one a dozen more times or so before I exhaust the possibilities I want to explore with it.

From the Painting Guide: It's what I always say -- don't dismiss a subject until you've tried it at least once because you never know where it might lead. I'm delighted this project has worked so well for you, and looking at this painting I'd say you've made a fabulous start to a series.

Your painting has vitality and energy to it. Initially I found it a little overwhelming, confusing as what to look at first as there's so much going on. But as I kept looking my brain started interpreting bits of color, linking lights and reflections, and now when I look at it it's still a very busy painting but it gives me a sense of excitement of bright city lights.

I think the composition works well through the strong lines in it and the use of color. It pushes the eye across the foreground into the heart of the subject.
