The challenge for this project is to create an abstracted city scene, to convey the essence of an urban environment without detail. But remember, it's to be an abstraction, not a pure or true abstract. Think "simplified realism" or "reduced and/or altered reality" rather than simply "abstract".

Take a scene or item from an urban setting and simplify the detail, the level of information. This could be the dominant colors or shapes, reflection or patterns, whatever is the minimum you need to convey the essence and character of the scene.

There are no restrictions on the size or format of canvas/paper you use. Nor on which colors or how many colors you use, though for a sense of a grimy city a limited palette would work well.

For inspiration, take a look at the paintings from last year's project Abstracting Nature.
