From the Artist: This is my office come workshop, I've included all the modern accoutrements and all the wires that go with them. I don't think it looks very Matissey, this flattened perspective has me foxed, and we seem to be looking at the items from all angles. I have left the canvas purposely blank, hence the title.
From the Painting Guide: If you think about how you look at things when you enter a room, we do see things from varying viewpoints all the time. We don't stand still and look from one static viewpoint; we turn our head, step forward or to the side, and if you bend down you get a new angle yet again. So it could be argued that having a painting where we're at various elements from different angles is more real than a static, fixed perspective.
I'm sure Matisse would've loved the patterns that could be created from the "wire spaghetti" that comes with computers.
