From the Artist: When I was painting my second/redone railway scene using brushes, I thought I might make another with knives, then decided not to. I decided to gesso that third canvas and, when turned upside down, the canvas brought this scene to me. It may not be the type of high art anticipated for this project, but it wanted to be done and I enjoyed trying the medium.

From the Painting Guide: Project submissions definitely don't need to be "high art"! My hope is to encourage people to try something new, because you can never tell what might be a trigger for a creative burst. Following your instinct rather than plans when turning a canvas upside down is a fine example of this; you don't know where you're going to end up, you may be pleasantly surprise and, if not, can always do the painting you'd originally intended later.
