From the Artist: This is a little painting I did in watercolours and coloured pencils, both of which can give a soft and gentle looking result so I feel that they are a great combination. Lilacs are my very favourite flower so I chose those.
I have seen some clear glass paintings that are so beautifully done with the light bouncing off in all the right places and the colours masterfully added like a prism. Certainly a goal to reach for so I wanted to give painting glass (another) try. I know I am not there yet.
I am also not very experienced with water colours. I do feel I am getting the hang of it, though lots harder than acrylic. The watercolour in the little tubes is much easier to work with. Practice, practice, practice I guess. I enjoyed this project very much and can easily see why some artists choose to use a mixed media.
