From the Artist: I have a five-year-old grandson and he's into barnyards and animals so I tried to think about what he would like. I tried to keep it simple with bright colors. I would have liked the barnyard to have been more closeup, but I guess it gives the reader a feel of how much land Misty has to cover before finding the lost lamb.
From the Painting Guide: I think having the barn at a bit of a distance does indeed give a feeling of a lot of land for Misty to search in, and also gives a context for the haybale from the next page.
