From the Artist: This is the first painting I have ever sold. It was made in May of 2008, and to this day remains without a title. It was a special order from a wealthy member of my family willing to help jumps-start my career. At first, I didn't know what to do. She wanted an abstract painting, and I was more of a figurative artist. So I just stared at this big piece of blank canvas for a very long time, and then it hit me from nowhere. The colours just added themselves over each other, creating thin layers of pure satisfaction. The more I painted, the more aggressive I became, and the violence of the control I had over this piece of fabric and colour had sparked something in me that I had until then not been able to find: peace of mind.
