From the Artist: I normally do not paint without some sort of reference but this vision came to me while driving. As soon as I got home I started painting shards of glass hanging on strings. The faces in the glass evolved from the flecks of color I streaked across the canvas. It was truly an experimental moment (maybe from too much wine the night before).
My son saw the painting and really liked it because it was conceptualized. His friend saw the painting and really liked it too. Instead of giving it away, I offered to sell it for a dollar (just so I could say that I sold a painting) and his friend bought it. I showed the picture I took of the painting to a co-worker who said he would have bought it for much more!
