I've included this photo to show how loosely I'm applying the paint. It looks a real mess right now, but remember it's only a step in the process, it's not the final result. I have a picture in my mind's eye of how I ultimately want the painting to be.
The dark patches of green in the sea may look particularly odd, but I put them there intending them to serve as a lower layer of dark peaking through the final layers of sea. Like rocks showing through shallow water.
