Crochet Hook for Masking Fluid

A tip to help you with your watercolour painting

By Marion Boddy-Evans, About.com

Instead of using a brush for liquid masking, I've been using crochet hooks in various sizes depending on the area to be covered. You can get a very fine line with the smallest ones or use the big ones to cover large areas. The indented 'hook' part works as a reservoir, the dried masking just peels off of them with ease and they last forever.

I wanted to try applying masking fluid with a crochet hook, but my wife did not have one, though she did have a large sewing needle. I tried that and it works very well too.
