Painting Tip: Putting Down Detail

A helpful painting tip submitted by a fellow artist.

By , About.com Guide

In the beginning, when you start to learn to paint, it is often difficult to achieve detail with paint and a brush. So, instead, use watercolor paint for the main areas of color, then use colored pencil on top for putting down the tricky detail.
Tip from: Jenny M.

Note from the Painting Guide: Watercolor pencils would work well for this as you can 'dissolve' them into paint if you wished.
