I was doing a couple of paintings where the background has been a uniform color, so rather than try and cover a canvas with a no. 5 brush, I used a decorating paint pad. Once the paint was mixed, the background was done in five minutes. Smooth, uniform, edges, rubbed right into the fabric, and dry in a shorter period of time.
