Painting Tip: Enlarge a Sketch onto a Canvas Without Drawing a Grid

A helpful painting tip submitted by a fellow artist.

By Marion Boddy-Evans, About.com

Instead of drawing a grid to enlarge a drawing onto a canvas, what I do is fold my picture in half, then quarters. Then I use these sections according to the scale of canvas (half of the picture equals half of the canvas; half of the half is the quarter). I find it works well.
