What Colors to Use for Painting a Honey Color

A color tip to add to your color theory knowledge for painting.

By Marion Boddy-Evans, About.com

For a honey color I would mix raw sienna and a light hansa yellow, then modify with white to match the desired value. Don't try to create a homogenous top coat, but let different areas tend towards constituent color, at odds with the under-painting. Perform your mixing on the canvas for best results. I would suggest using these colors as under-painting as well in different areas, then scratching through to the under painting to provide additional fur texture.
