The Completed Face

Wildlife Painting step by Step Demonstration: Orangutan in Pastel Image: © Leigh Rust

The face is now completed. The tones of the face were mainly warm and cool grays, with umber for a warm compliment and blue violet as the cool compliment.

The undertones were handled by caput mortum. This color is possibly the hardest working color in my pastel collection. Highlights were handled using raw sienna and burnt umber tones.
