This is an example of the sketching I did sitting on the steps of St Martin's Church, overlooking Trafalgar Square. It's a great vantage point and you can sit against a pillar so other people are unlikely to look over your shoulder.
The sketch on the left is of two lads who sat on the stairs below me, talking. On the right are quick sketches of various kinds of bags women were carrying -- and a note that women all carry a bag of some sorts, but not the men. Where do they carry their stuff?
That pigeon is appalling; I so wanted to cover it up in Photoshop -- the digital equivalent of tearing it out a sketchbook! But I'd promised myself I'd put the sketchbook pages up as they were....
